Cluster of my Controversy

This is a visual representation of how my controversy over organ donation looks from both sides of the argument as well as what kinds of parties are on either side of the argument.
This cluster shows the organizations for the use of social media to find organ donors, and those against it. The ones against it are more government related organizations that are generally promoting the laws they currently have in place in relation to organ transplants and how to match up recipients with donors.

This is a to the diagram so it is easier to see and read.

Reflection:
After reading through and viewing Casey's cluster, I noticed the benefits and draw backs to my own cluster. I like my cluster because it is a bit easier for myself to follow since it starts with only two central ideas, a pro side and a con side, and then continues to branch out from that point. But I also feel that when you get out to the ends of my chart, it becomes a bit more chaotic in that it starts out as a little bit of writing and grows into more paragraph like explanations. I did enjoy the availability to color code my chart. It made it easier for me to create and understand.

After reading Hallye's cluster, I know now that I can minimize my explanations a bit to make it more user friendly. When reading a mind map, such as mine, you want to emphasize the main points so that the reader does not get lost or become confused on your topic.

Doing these sort of activities forces you to organize your ideas and boil the information down to the main points. Something that I continue to work is minimizing the words, but increasing their value (so less rambling).

  1. I used a similar set up for my cluster with the pro and con groups but mine were the sides rather then just pros and cons of the topic. I actually think that your use of small topics and including a lot of information is a good way to set up for writing off of this. The cluster is a good way to organize information for further use and I believe the way you set it up will make it even easier. I myself like to spread the work out and that's why I just put a little brief information for each topic.

  2. I really love how organized your cluster is! I used a s similar format, and split my cluster into the two groups that oppose each other in my controversy. I especially like how detailed your cluster is. Even though you have a lot of information on there, it is easy to read and follow. I personally don't like to include too much information in my clusters, because it just ends up confusing me. I really liked seeing how you spread out your work, though!
